About Us
The Potomac Valley Irish Wolfhound Club is dedicated to the preservation, health, welfare, and enjoyment of the Irish Wolfhound through responsible breeding, education, rescue, and by providing loving homes to our hounds.
PVIWC holds meetings most months of the year at which the public (and often hounds) are welcome! We present an annual Specialty Breed show with Obedience and Rally trials in late March/early April in Bel Air, MD. PVIWC participates in St. Patrick’s day Parades and events, Irish, Celtic and even Scottish Fairs and Festivals, provides presentations to schools, clubs and civic organizations on request, throughout the MD/DC/VA/DE areas. We publish a newsletter several times a year.
Members’ hounds are involved in pet therapy, theater, lure coursing, nosework, tracking, agility, obedience, rally, conformation and more.
Our monthly meetings, held in person and on Zoom are open to members and visitors, and you are encouraged to attend to stop by our booth at events. (See Calendar for dates and locations)
If you would like to donate to the club to help with costs for events, you can send a check to our Treasurer (see contacts page) or donate through Paypal here:
